On Saturday June 30, 2018, hordes of visitors descended on SWISS KRONO’s Hungarian plant in Vásárosnamény for this year’s official open house.
It was a warm, beautiful day, and the sun was already shining brightly when the OSB plant opened its gates right on time at 10 a.m. The air was filled with the sounds of music and the laughter of playing children, and there was also plenty for employees and their families as well as neighbours and many other guests to do and see. The event was officially opened by the plant’s managing director, Dr Marcin Luty, and turned out to be a great day with a varied programme of activities in a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was in a good mood, additionally buoyed by a live band and a comedy show.
The kids also enjoyed themselves immensely in a range of activities that included face painting, bull riding, a jumping castle and even a magician with a fascinating repertoire of tricks.
A small train took interested visitors of all ages around the premises, and guided tours provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone – and especially members of employees’ families – to get an impressive glimpse of the production processes of the area’s largest employer.
Staff also participated in a cooking contest to provide everyone with delicious food. Some of the visitors even praised the results of their efforts as the best traditional Hungarian dishes far and wide, which Dr Luty confirmed after personally sampling them.
After a very successful day, SWISS KRONO Kft. bid adieu to all the guests in the early evening. “We’re very pleased that so many interested people from the surrounding area attended, and especially that the families of our staff turned up in such large numbers,” said Dr Lutz, who is in charge of SWISS KRONO Kft. and Head of Eastern Markets at SWISS KRONO. “It’s been great to reconnect with the region, and we’re looking forward to celebrating together again next year!”
