First T+G Board Produced in Late June
This summer a new tongue-and-groove OSB plant began producing at the SWISS KRONO facility near Vásárosnamény, Hungary. It is distinctive because it is itself an upcycled product: the plant was professionally assembled from (mainly used) machine components.
For Marcin Lutz, Head of Eastern Markets and in charge of the Vásárosnamény site, the new plant is very important: “This T+G plant enormously boosts our competitiveness by enabling us to directly supply mixed loads to our core markets in Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria.”
Besides being useful for developing new markets, this challenging project also demonstrated the solidarity and capabilities of the employees who were involved in implementing it. They excelled as a team in every respect.
Marcin Luty: “I want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this project. The team spirit shown by all staff while it was ongoing was simply remarkable. We all pulled on one rope. And I hope very much that this level of collaboration will continue.”
The big day arrived on June 28th, when SWISS KRONO OSB boards with tongue-and-groove edges began rolling off the conveyor belt after all relevant tests were successfully concluded. These EN 13986-compliant OSB/3 boards – sanded on both sides and prepared with tongue-and-groove edges for jointless installation – are now available for purchase.
